Our mission is to promote eStandards that support Efficiency, Transformation, and Transparency of Local Public Services in the UK.

What is an eStandard?

We define the scope of e-standards as

  • Semantics – the meaning of information
  • Syntax – the format of information
  • Data Quality – the confidence to use information
  • Rights – permission to use information
  • Trust – who is accessing information
  • Transport – how to move information
  • Information Governance – the behaviour and culture to protect and exploit information
  • Discovery – who has what information

Who is LeGSB?

LeGSB is a part of the iNetwork; our ‘accountable body’ is Tameside Council, who’s standing orders and financial regulations we adhere to.  Our funding predominantly comes from sponsorship from government departments, such as DCLG and DWP.  Our steering board includes representatives from local authorities, departments, and other representative groups, such as the LGA, SOCITM, the Information Commissioner’s Office, and Intellect.
