The Local e-Government Standards Body (LeGSB) was originally one of the National Projects initiated and funded by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM). Since November 2006, LeGSB has operated has a brand of Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, reporting to the North West e-Government Group (NWEGG)
The LeGSB steering group is chaired by the NWeGG portfolio holder and is made up of representatives from Local Authorities, the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Cabinet Office, and suppliers via Intellect.
Paul Davidson, as the appointed Director of Standards, takes on responsibility to facilitate and define the process. Paul, retains part of his role of CIO at Sedgemoor District Council.
A Constitution, setting out LeGSB aims and methods has been approved by the NWeGG executive.
