An assessment of the Standards that could and should be applied to a project.

LeGSB assesses projects in terms of the standards that could and should be applied within them.

The report is produced following sessions with the project and by reference to the LeGSB Standards Catalogue.

The report is laid out in terms of the Local Government Standards Architecture Reference Model, so that standards are considered for

ACCESS

  • Customer – types / segmentation
  • Devices – the types of devices that are best suited to the application, and the target customer groups.
  • Assistive Technologies – implications for accessibility
  • Channels – the standards to be incorporated when delivering the service
  • Intermediaries – the organisation types, and agency types, that might assist the customer

INTEROPERABILITY

  • Functional Messaging – the standards for Web Services, etc
  • Reliable Messaging
  • Syndication

DISCOVERY

  • Public Sector Vocabularies – identifying the correct terms from the most appropriate lists.
  • Public Sector Agencies – identifying Agency Types.
  • Directory of Service – The standards in which to describe and ‘tag’ a service.

SERVICE DESCRIPTION

  • Local Government Vocabularies -  – identifying the correct terms from the most appropriate lists.
  • Interactions – Identifying
  • Decision Support – Standards for determining eligibility and the process to use.
  • Data Standards – highlighting entries from the relevant Data Standards Catalogues.
  • Security Assessment – the standards to use to determine the approach to security.

TRANSACTION

  • Customer Authentication – the standards that should be used to control access.
  • Employee Authentication – the standards that should be used to give public sector employees access to services and information.
  • Forms – Payments – Appointments – Booking – The standards for each as applicable.
  • Providing a response to a Transaction
  • Creating an Audit Trail of a Transaction.

PROCESS

  • Identify the Key Processes
  • Modelling – standards
  • Enterprise Workflow – standards
  • Line of Business – Integrations

INFORMATION

  • Data – The formats and metadata for exchanging data, e.g. Schemas.
  • Application
  • Corporate – Financials, Assets, Resources

  • Unstructured - Managed Content ,Word Processed Documents , Spreadsheets , e-mails , hard-copy documents
  • Records
  • Classification schemes.

LEGAL GATEWAYS

  • The existing Legal Gateways that enable relevant information to be shared.

INFORMATION ASSURANCE

  • The Information Assurance regimes within which the service will operate.

THROUGHPUT

  • The standards that enable each interaction to be counted appropriately.

PERFORMANCE

  • The standards that enable the resolution of each interaction to be measured.
